Floravoltaica is a research project of the Advanced Architecture Group at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, IAAC. The aim of this project is to develop a regenerative, productive and insulative cladding system for existing buildings, with flexibility in its applications, regardless of the type of climate in which it is to be installed.

To achieve this objective, on one hand, a catalog of plants has been selected that can be cultivated in the Floravoltaica panel and at the same time produce energy through the bio-photovoltaic system. On the other hand, a parametric algorithm has been developed through which various parameters can be defined to customize the design of the panel and adapt it to the climatic requirements.
